This 18th century English Chest Drawer is in structurally sound conditions with no loose parts. The classic profile of an early walnut chest - herring-bone, crossbanding to the drawers, matched veneers, half-round or D cross-grained mouldings on the edges of the carcase front. It includes bracket feet, along with escutcheons with original locks at the back. Its polish is original, but has been preserved. It also includes all of the dovetail joints in the front and back of the drawer. The interior woods are of English Quarter Sawn Oak and it is book-matched in the top center. All the timbers are original to the piece.
