Two part secretaire with cabriolet legs. Traditional William and Mary style chinoiserie on the bodies, upper and lower. Venetian red chinoiserie field interior section is embellished with gold, and hand made hinges. The doors to the shelves are filled with 1/8" cross hatch solid brass grids. This piece is hand polished in the traditional style of old japanning and French polishing. The exterior is carbon black with raised chinoiserie and flat chinoiserie glazed with VanDyke brown and raw umber. All is polished with button and garnet shellac.
