19th Century Italian Red Leather Chair
19th Century Italian Red Leather Chair
This chair was made sometime in the 1800s in Italy. Has beautiful hand carved ornamental carvings throughout the frame of the chair; hand scalloped arms on a sea-scroll with the patina worn down, showing how much this chair has been loved over the centuries. The wood is strong, sturdy walnut that has a smooth touch. The chair was completely reupholstered, back in the early 2000s, with a cranberry red leather that brings out the warm tones of the walnut. There are hand hammered, Mediterranean nailheads that not only charmingly decorate the chair, but secures the leather onto the frame of the chair. Would look fabulous in an at home library, studio, study, head dining chair, or even as decor. Is a very functional, sturdy, and comfortable chair.
